Support school mental health.

Typical or Troubled? is an educational program, designed for school personnel (teachers, coaches guidance counselors, etc…) to raise their awareness of mental disorders in teens. The program focuses on promoting the importance of early recognition and treatment, recognizing the early warning signs of mental health problems, and encouraging action and appropriate referral to a mental health professional. The Partnership for Workplace Mental Health is a program of the foundation that works with businesses to ensure that employees and their families living with mental illness, including substance use disorders, receive effective care. It does so in recognition that employers purchase healthcare for millions of American workers and their families.

Since 1975, the APA has honored Black pioneers providing significant benefit to the quality of life for Black people with the Solomon Carter Fuller Award. Your support will allow this award to continue for years to come.

Support the John Fryer, M.D. Award

The John Fryer, M.D. Award honors an individual whose work has contributed to the improvement of the mental health of sexual minorities. The award is named after Dr. John Fryer, a gay psychiatrist who played a crucial role in prompting the American Psychiatric Association to review the scientific data and to remove homosexuality from the APA’s diagnostic list of mental disorders in 1973.

Making a donation to support psychiatric resarch is a contribution toward the improvement of mental health care for all Americans. Foundation research initiatives assure an appropriate evidence base for mental disorder diagnoses, APA health policy, psychiatry workforce analysis, and educational programs.

Buy a benefit ticket and join us at during the APA Annual Meeting!

On Saturday, May 3 from 7:00 - 10:00pm, spend an evening of good conversation, good food, and live music with your colleagues at the American Psychiatric Foundation's annual benefit in one of New York's most unique spaces - Hangar 2 of the Intrepid aircraft carrier. Visitors will be able to explore Hangar 2 and peruse its exhibits

Tickets cost $150. To purchase more than one ticket, enter the total cost of the number of tickets desired in the "Other" amount field. If you enter an amount other than multiples of $150, only tickets fully paid for will be considered purchased.

The Foundation estimates $240 of goods and services will be provided to you in exchange for each ticket payment.
